Come learn the art of Kuruniki! We will be making mugs and have the option to attach a handle as well.
Kurinuki (くりぬき) is a traditional Japanese, subtractive hand-building pottery technique that involves carving, shaping, and hollowing out a single solid block of clay to create a vessel. Often used for tea bowls (chawan) or cups, this method focuses on creating unique, organic, and asymmetrical forms with rough, textured surfaces that reflect the wabi-sabi philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection.

We supply all the materials, guidance and instructions to make your project. Anything you create will be finished by our staff and ready for pick up two weeks after your workshop.
